Defoamers: D-Spume® FM Range

In the process of manufacture of Phosphoric Acid, Di & Mono Ammonium Phosphate (DAP/MAP), NP and NPK type of fertilizers there is copious foaming taking place, which needs to be quelled. Foams disturb production sequences in which liquids, particularly water, have an important function as transporting media or solvents, and in the worst cases they can even bring such processes to a standstill. Furthermore, foams can lead to lower production yields and finished products of poorer quality.

Tira Gulf D-Spume® FM product range are specifically designed custom made antifoams of both water and oil base proved to have outstanding performance in different processes including phosphoric acid dihydrate and hemihydrate processes, DAP, NP, NPK and other fertilizers plants.

D-Spume® FM defoamers reduces moisture in the gypsum waste from the filter, facilitating its handling and disposal. The products are fed neat from the tote directly to the second wash where water is added, before the removal of the filter cake.

Extraction recoveries can be further increased by adding D-Spume® FM defoamers to the reactor and second wash.

Using D-Spume® FM defoamers in the digester and/or second wash point reduces P2O5 losses significantly, increasing chemical recovery. The product is added neat by a positive displacement pump. The dose and duration of application varies according to plant and operating conditions.

Anticaking Agents - FertiCot® Range

Poor storage conditions and long storage without conditioning of granular fertilizers result in formation of undesirable lumps and powder sand therefore the benefits of granulation are largely lost by non-uniform application, washing away of powdery fertilizer, and also making mechanical application of fertilizer impossible.

This poor conditioning can lead to a sizable percentage reduction in yields of the farm; all this when a considerable amount of capital is deployed and cost is incurred in NPK/urea plants especially to provide granular product.

Prevention of such caking of fertilizer and making the fertilizer retain its customer values, are achieved by providing a uniform coating of cationic/anionic complex forming chemical formulations, in the final steps of manufacturing process of fertilizer.

CAD FertiCot® anticaking products range help preserve the granular nature of the fertilizer.

The products are specifically designed to suit many applications such as urea, DAP, MAP, NPK, TSP and Nitrate based fertilizers.

Urea Melt Additives - FertiMelt® Range

CAD FertiMelt® urea melt additive is incorporated with active ingredients based on surface activity and ionic activity relating to cohesion and compression of prills with a host of promoters and migrating aids, apart from coupling agents that are required to enable the organic chemicals to effectively interact with the hygroscopic urea fertilizer prills.

Tira Gulf's urea melt additive is system compatible and promotes uniform mixing of the melt thereby enabling prilling with uniform pressure. This in turn gives rise to increase in prill strength as also reducing the fines to the bare minimum.

The minimum and maximum prill strengths and the average prill strength are very close to each other i.e. prill strength is maintained in a close range. Our product is non-toxic in nature, and does not cause any skin toxicity, irritation and micro-organism toxicity related to agricultural use of urea.

Granulating Additives - FertiFix® Range

CAD offers granulation additives under the brand name FertiFix®.

These products are applied to optimize the production process and improve the fertilizer granule quality. They help to increase the bonding and crushing strength of the final product. They also arrest the fines production and practically eliminates dusting in total.

CAD's granulating additives do not in any way interfere with the chemical properties and the end use of fertilizer. Granulating Aid is non-toxic and easily bio-degradable.

Flocculants – N-Floc® Range

CAD has a broad range of flocculants to optimize industrial processes under the name N-Floc®.

The products can improve the filtration rate of a phosphoric acid-gypsum slurry, resulting in lower P2O5-losses. Moreover, they can act as a clarifying agent to separate solid particles from acids more readily.

Alumina

Aluminium is the most abundant mineral, and the third most abundant element on Earth's crust. Alumina is produced by the refining of bauxite, and its primary use is the production of aluminium metal, but is also used in refractories, ceramics, polishing and abrasive applications, and as a fire retardant/smoke suppressant.

Hydrated alumina minerals are a major component of bauxite. These minerals are dissolved, separated from residue, re-precipitated and then converted to alumina. In a separate process, the alumina is smelted to aluminium metal.

CAD provides the alumina industry with value-added, efficiency-enhanced additives during alumina processing. Our W-Floc of flocculants has proven outstanding performance in the solid-liquid separation processes.
